The Apprentice fans stunned by Sophie's 'rude' gesture as she's fired from BBC show

The Apprentice candidate Sophie Wilding has been accused of being 'rude' by fans over her exit of the boardroom after being fired by Lord Sugar.

The 32-year-old looked gutted to become the latest casualty of Lord Sugar's boardroom and could only muster a simple 'thanks' to the business tycoon before heading out the door.

In the dying moments of the latest episode of the BBC One show, Sophie was given the boot for her team's 'tacky driverless party pods'.

And fans of the show took to Twitter to criticise the ex-candidate for failing to acknowledge Lord Sugar's investment in her career during her time on the show.

One said: "Sophie did not say thank you for the opportunity to Lord Sugar...Tut Tut! #TheApprentice."

Another wrote: "Ooh Sophie what no, thank you Lord Sugar for the opportunity or Karen and Tim. Bit sulky #TheApprentice."

A third asked: "Did Sophie even say “thanks for the opportunity” babe dipped quickly #TheApprentice."

A fourth commented: "Wow! Nick escaped! Sophie didn’t say thanks for the opportunity. Rude #TheApprentice."

And another accused her of 'bad vibes adding: "Sophie didn't say thanks or goodbye that's how you know she's bad vibes #TheApprentice."

During this week's show, the remaining candidates were tasked with designing, branding and pitching their own electric driverless pod cars.

Her team planned to create an Instagram-worthy party pod - the StarPod.

Lord Sugar slammed their interior design with glitter walls, pink benches and a karaoke machine as "tacky" as the candidates clashed over the design and branding.

Cocktail bar owner Sophie, from Cheltenham admitted that she thought the design was risky and clearly it failed to impress Lord Sugar.

She told The Metro: "I just wanted to do something which was kind of like, out of the ordinary, something really innovative.

"So I knew from the offset, it was either going to be amazing, or it was going to be a flop, so I knew it was a risk."

And despite not addressing her boardroom exit she has shared a screen shot of her appearance which a pal posted on Instagram which reads: "Gutted for the beautiful @sophiewildingxx tonight! Loved watching you every week... Your bar is incredible you don't need lord sugar hun!"

But Sophie admitted in a Q&A on Insta that she'd always watched the show and wanted to go on it and used the opportunity to attract ''investment gain trustworthy contacts and support".

The Apprentice continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
