The Ange Postecoglou plane fear as mischief from Australia star landed revenge involving Celtic boss

Ryan McGowan has opened up on the Australia mischief that landed him seat 1A next to Ange Postecoglou on the plane and his fear to WAKE-UP the Celtic boss.

The St Johnstone ace was looking back on his time with the national team as part of the BBC's Sacked in the Morning segment and he revealed how sticking coffee tabs on his senior team-mates would end up coming back to haunt him. It was a 16-hour experience he will NEVER forget, which included not moving for the toilet.

The current Saints star missed out on the Socceroos' squad for the World Cup finals this time around in a run that ended with Graham Arnold's men losing out to superstar Lionel Messi and his Argentina troops in the last 16 of the competition. However, it is his memories with the national set-up under now Celtic boss Postecoglou that continue to haunt him.

Looking back on a flight from Sydney to Dubai and the revenge mission from the senior stars in the national squad, he told BBC Scotland: "I am sitting there just sweating. I was so nervous. He didn't speak to me once. Not even like, 'how are you?'"

"I'd been up to a bit of mischief with some of the senior boys beforehand, which I now seriously regret.

"I was at Hearts on my 100 quid a week and I used to put all my coffees on the senior boys' rooms because they could obviously afford it. But I didn't know they could pick the seats when we were flying from Sydney to Dubai.

"I got my ticket and it was 1A, business class up the front. I get on the flight, all set up and the next thing Ange comes and he's sitting right next to me."

The St Johnstone midfielder even admits to NOT going to the toilet at all on the flight over the fear of waking up his gaffer.

He continued "I held it in the whole way. No way was I waking him up.

"Some of the boys were ordering wine. I was like 'just water, thank you'. When we got there, he just up and left."
