The amazing rendition of the anthem Wales fans have been waiting to sing for 64 years

Wales are officially at the World Cup.

Rob Page's men have kick-started their 2022 campaign against the United States of America, and the Red Wall fully enjoyed the moment they have waited 64 years for.

More than 3,000 Welsh supporters belted out Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau prior to kick-off at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in what is the Red Dragons' first fixture on the grandest stage of world football since they were beaten by Brazil in 1958.

Live updates: USA v Wales as it happens

It proved to be an emotional moment for the fans who have been supporting the men's national team through heartbreak after heartbreak ever since their first ever outing at a World Cup in Sweden several decades ago.

But this was their moment in the spotlight, and, as ever, the Red Wall made their country proud with a spine-tingling rendition of their anthem.

England currently top Group B having thumped Iran 6-2 on Monday afternoon. Wales face Iran on Friday before taking on the Three Lions four days later.
