An airport worker consoled both the King and Prince Harry within hours of each other after the Queen's death.
Phyllis Stuart, head of a concierge service at Aberdeen Airport, chatted with the Duke of Sussex and King Charles today.
Prince Harry patted Ms Stuart on the shoulder before he boarded a plane taking him back to his wife Meghan Markle.
Just a few hours later Ms Stuart greeted King Charles III as he arrived at the airport to fly to the capital.
The new monarch landed in London at around 1.30pm, before making his way to Buckingham Palace.
Thousands lined the streets near the Palace to welcome Charles and Camilla, cheering them as they arrived.
Charles left his car to greet some of those gathered outside, shaking hands with countless members of the public.
Many chanted 'God save the King' as the monarch met the crowds.
He also took a few moments to view bouquets left at the gates of the Palace.
Charles appeared overcome with emotion and put his hand to his mouth while reading some of the tribute messages.
Film director Raynald Leconte, 47, who is from New York, said he was lucky enough to speak to the King and Queen outside Buckingham Palace.
“It was quite a moment,” he said.
“I said, ‘condolences’. He said, ‘really, really thank you very much.
“And to his wife I wished her good luck and she said, ‘thank you very much’.
“I think she said, ‘I’ll need it’.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry arrived back in Windsor after spending the night with his family mourning the death of the Queen.
The Duke of Sussex rushed to be at his ailing grandmother’s bedside on Thursday amid concerns from doctors.
Tragically Prince Harry, back in the country from his US home for a charity bash in London, arrived in Balmoral 90 minutes after the announcement Her Majesty had passed away.
Earlier today, he flew south to be with wife Meghan, who it had been decided would stay behind.

On his arrival at Windsor the Duke of Sussex cut a sombre figure as he was driven in the Land Rover by his security team.
His website with the Duchess of Sussex has temporarily changed to an all black screen which simply reads: “In loving memory Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”
The Duke of Sussex had spent the night in the Scottish Highlands with King Charles III, as well as his brother and uncles.
