If you're looking for some budget-priced designer brand dupes, everyone knows that Aldi is one of the places to be.
From beauty products to perfume, the discounted supermarket has become well-known for providing shoppers with premium style items that won't break the bank.
This time it's a popular 99p cleaning product that has been compared to the luxurious woody fragrance that is Marc Jacobs' Decadence Perfume.
TikTok user @charleybourne took to TikTok after she managed to snap up a bottle of Fabulosa's Pure Opulence disinfectant in the supermarket's famed 'middle aisle.'
In the video, the shopper explained that the popular item smelled 'exactly the same' as the designer branded perfume which usually costs around £60+.
With so many 'dupes' on the market these days, one reporter managed to snap up a bottle of the cleaning spray in her local Aldi to see if it really lives up to the hype, MEN reports.
This is how she got on.
For the last two weeks I struggled to find the product in store, as it's clearly a popular item. But I’ve finally managed to get my hands on it to see if it really does smell like one of Marc Jacobs’ perfume.
Fabulosa was launched in March 2019 on the back of household cleaning products manufacturer, Active Brand Concepts.
The Cheshire based brand told BusinessLive that their tagline is ‘That Fabulosa Feeling’, “because it can tune into your senses and memories. It’s more than just a cleaning product, it’s about the feeling that it gives you.”
It’s a great sized bottle for 99p, with 500ml of product. The multi-purpose spray doesn’t need to be diluted and is said to kill 99.9 per cent of bacteria, and can be used all around the home.
It’s fragrance description reads: “an oriental floral with top notes of bergamot, ripe plum and iris, a heart of rose, Jasmin, ylang and orris and a rich powdered base of amber, patchouli, vetiver, woods, musk and vanilla.”
And comparing it to Marc Jacobs’ Decadence, both mention plum and iris, as well as rose, jasmine, orris and amber.
The perfume brand also references saffron, vetiver and papyrus woods - but it’s safe to say that the notes are all of similar scents, so it’s easy to see why they smell so similar.
Woody and floral, the disinfectant spray really does smell like the luxury Marc Jacobs fragrance, and all of my houseguests over the weekend said how nice the house smelled.
If, like me, you struggled to get hold of a bottle in Aldi, Amazon are currently stocking a pack of six for £5.99 with free Prime delivery.
The price of the product seems really affordable and I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for more scents in the Fabulosa range. I’m obsessed with spraying everything in my house with it.
