Qatari investors are keen to buy Manchester United and are currently planning a huge bid in an attempt to become the club’s new owners, according to the Daily Mail.
It is said that they will make a bid for United in the next few days, with current owners the Glazer family previously setting a mid-February deadline for offers. It could cost in excess of £6billion to buy the Red Devils, who will be heavily backed in the transfer market if this deal goes through.
Any proposed takeover would of course need the approval of the Premier League amid some concerns regarding the country’s previous human rights record, which were often highlighted during the World Cup. Insiders around the deal said: "‘There are significant funds available.

"These people are serious. They want to make sure that United are where they should be and they are confident theirs will be the strongest bid.
"They want to strengthen the squad to put them back at the top but they also want this to be for the good of the community. They also want to build on the success of the World Cup.
"They recognise that Manchester United is the biggest football club in the world, the crown jewels, and there is a steely-minded determination to buy it and get it to where it should be." The rest of the Premier League, including the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will certainly be keeping a close eye on the potential takeover.
Any new owners arriving at another top side always has the potential to seriously impact the fortunes of that club, which has certainly been on display since Newcastle were taken over just over a year ago. At the time, the Tyneside-based club were 18th in the league standings, eventually finishing 11th.
The Magpies have improved even more this term, currently sitting fourth having lost just once in the league so far.
