A number of schools across the North East 'require improvement', according to education watchdog Ofsted.
We have looked at inspection reports published by the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills for schools across the region. And 65 have been classed as requiring improvement.
Ofsted gives four ratings - 'outstanding' at the top, followed by 'good', 'requires improvement' and then 'inadequate'. We have listed all the schools, both secondary and primary, that need to take further action to improve their standards of education.

We have divided our results up for each local authority and given the name of the school as well as the date of the latest Ofsted report, with the 'requires improvement' rating.
Please note that some of the schools have not been fully inspected for a number of years, though Ofsted has recently said they will be visiting all sites by 2025. The following ratings were correct as of June 16, 2022.
