Happy Dough Lucky

The Lacehouse, 14 Broadway, Nottingham NG1 1PS

Happy Dough Lucky can be found in the Lacehouse across from Annie's Burger Shack. The owners of the pizzeria didn't want to offer 'frozen, hand-stretched pizza' like the rest so the result is their signature bases and unusual toppings.

If you fancy something a little bit different then the pizzeria features a guest chef monthly to offer new and exciting toppings such as their current offering which has lemon ricotta and chilli jam. If you are feeling fancy then they offer two pizza and prosecco deal for £45.

Customers have praised the venue saying its the best pizza they have ever had: "We met friends ahead of graduation. Great pizza and great service. Really good evening. The menu offers a range of interesting and innovative flavours - all very well made."

Pizzamisu

9 High Pavement, NG1 1HF

Pizzamisu is a newer offering in the city centre but has grown a huge following in a short space of time. If you fancy a pizza the action then they can be found down the side street by Nottingham Contemporary - just follow the amazing smell.

The small restaurant offers a big menu full of pizza, starters, desserts, drinks and side dishes including their popular patatine salsiccia e scamorza which translates as fried chips, Italian sausage and smoked mozzarella.

The vibe is authentic Neapolitan so expect to find Italian order names and pizza made the traditional way with lots of flavour.

Pizza at Solo Grano (Nottingham Post)

Solo Grano

21-23 Wheeler Gate

Solo Grano doesn't just offer pizza but has an entire range of tasty sandwiches perfect for a lunchtime treat. Other fan favourites on their menu include freshly made spaghetti alla chitarra, tagliatelle and their casarecce (short twists).

When it comes to pizza toppings, anything goes at Solo Grano which combines classics like baked pine nuts and pecorino with a twist of more unusual items such as smoked salmon. The team handmakes all of their traditional bases for a truly authentic Italian experience that has proved to be a hit with Nottingham's foodies.

There is even a bowl of gluten-free pasta on the menu for anyone with allergies.

One customers wrote: "Ultimately the best pizza one can ever have. I could say that the oil is just the cherry (tomato?!) On the top. It is actually the truffle taste that makes it a majestic pizza. The human body can experience five senses -the 6th is truffle. And this is so well balanced that makes me feel like that grumpy guy in Rattatoule."
