The NFL will hold its supplemental draft on Tuesday. It will be the first time since 2019 the event, which allows players whose draft eligibility has changed since the regular draft period to be selected, will take place.
There have been over 40 players selected in the supplemental draft over the years, dating back to the first in 1977. Here are the five best players who came out of the supplemental draft ranks.
QB Bernie Kosar
The Cleveland Browns selected Kosar from the University of Miami (FL) in the first round of the 1985 supplemental draft. Kosar led the Browns to four postseason berths in his first six seasons.
WR Cris Carter
Carter was a fourth-round pick in the 1987 supplemental draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Ohio State wideout is the only supplemental draft pick to make it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
RB Bobby Humphrey
The Denver Broncos selected Humphrey with a first-round pick in the 1989 supplemental draft. The RB from Alabama topped 1,100 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons and started for Denver in Super Bowl XXIV.
WR Rob Moore
The New York Jets tabbed Moore, a wideout from Syracuse, in the first round of the 1990 supplemental draft. He would make two Pro Bowls and catch over 600 passes for nearly 10,000 yards in his 10-year career.
LB Ahmad Brooks
Brooks was a third-round pick in the 2006 supplemental draft by the Bengals. In his 11-year career, Brooks started over 100 games and was twice a second-team All-Pro.
