The 5 best bets for NFL Week 15

For Week 15, we offer up a variety platter to choose from – a hot team on the moneyline in a hostile environment, a game to go Over, a game to go Under, the smallest favorite covering, and the biggest favorite doing the same.

Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans: Take UNDER 37 points (-110)

Credit: Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports

The Texans have been one of the great stories of 2023, but with Tank Dell out and C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins both expected to miss this game, this offense has been hobbled. This has the look of both teams trying to control the game on the ground. Derrick Henry will likely get the ball 20-25 times, and the combination of Devin Singletary and Dameon Pierce may get it 30 times. Under this scenario, the clock will be moving at all times, which will make it difficult to put up a ton of points.

Take Indianapolis Colts and lay 1.5 points (-110) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Colts were left for dead at 3-5 before snapping off a four-game winning streak that ended last week. The Steelers haven’t scored more than 18 points in their four games, so putting up points will be a struggle for them. These look like two teams going in different directions, and it could be a postseason elimination game for the loser. The Steelers have been notoriously slow starters – being outscored 7-34 in the first quarter and 159-88 in the first half. If the Colts can get up early, the Steelers aren’t a team built to come from behind.

3
Take Dallas Cowboys on the moneyline (+110) at Buffalo Bills

Credit: Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

All of Buffalo’s losses have been by six points or fewer, but they’re 7-6 and struggling to stay afloat in the playoff chase. The Cowboys have been playing exceptional complementary football in all three phases and haven’t been making mistakes during their current five-game winning streak. In the last five, they’ve won by 32, 23, 35, 6 and 20 points, so they’re not just beating people, they’re beating people up. If this game had been played in October, Buffalo would have had a better shot at winning, but the Cowboys are just too hot to contain right now – even in the cold of Buffalo.

2
Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars OVER 42.5 points (-110)

Credit: Jessica Rapfogel-USA TODAY Sports

The Ravens offense has been clicking on all cylinders for the last two months. They have scored more than 30 points in six of their last seven game and have been getting in some back-and-forth shootouts, like last week’s 37-31 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams. The Jaguars have scored 24 or more points in each of their four games and have allowed 65 points in the last two games to AFC North teams (Cincinnati and Cleveland). This has the look of a playoff-style game that could see a rematch in January, but both teams are capable of putting way too many points for this Over/Under number.

Take San Francisco 49ers and lay 12.5 points (-110) at Arizona Cardinals

Credit: Morgan Tencza-USA TODAY Sports

It’s always a dangerous call to lay more than 10 points because the NFL is crazy game that doesn’t always play to the script. That being said, of the 49ers’ 10 wins so far this season, eight of them have come by 13 points or more and against better competition than the Cardinals, who the Niners beat by 19 points in their first meeting. When the Cardinals lose, they tend to lose big. Five of Arizona’s last eight losses have come by 14 or more points. The 49ers have a grip on the No. 1 seed in the NFC and won’t look past the Cardinals, which could be bad news for Arizona fans.
