The 5 best bets for NFL Week 12

We have a buffet to choose from on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. There’s the biggest Over/Under hitting Over, the lowest O/U going Under, two big road favorites making a statement, and talented underdog planting their flag demanding the league taking notice.

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook

5
Take San Francisco 49ers on the moneyline (+130) at Green Bay Packers

The Packers have played three elite teams so far this season – the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. They’ve lost all three, because Green Bay fell behind early and couldn’t catch up. The 49ers have allowed just 20 points in the first quarter. If San Francisco can repeat what other quality teams have done and make the Packers play from behind, things go from bad to worse.

4
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: Take UNDER 39.5 points (-110)

The Vikings have the NFL’s top defense, allowing 17 points or less in seven of 10 games, including just 33 points in the last three. The Bears have lost four straight games and scored a total of 46 points in those games. If the Vikings do what they do defensively, the team that scores two touchdowns wins.

3
Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts: Take OVER 50.5 points (-110)

Nobody has figured out the Lions offense. In the last six games, their weekly point totals have been 42, 47, 31, 52, 24, 26, and 52. When the Lions are clicking, they don’t let up. The Colts have scored 20 or more points in eight of 11 games, and Anthony Richardson is playing for his future, even if they’re down by double digits. Detroit doesn’t need a lot of help from their opponent to top this big number.

2
Take Tampa Bay Buccaneers and lay 6 points (-105) at New York Giants

The Giants have lost four straight, allowing 101 points. Benching (and eventually cutting) Daniel Jones is one of the first 2025 business decisions the Giants have made. Going with Tommy DeVito isn’t an answer. It’s waving a white flag of surrender against a veteran Buccaneers defense and a Tampa Bay offense that has scored 20 or more points in their last seven games.

1
Take Kansas City Chiefs and lay 11 points (-110) at Carolina Panthers

Credit: Gregory Fisher-Imagn Images

The Chiefs have beaten only one team by more than 11 points (New Orleans Saints by 13), but coming off their first loss against an inferior Panthers squad has beatdown written all over it. The Panthers have lost seven games by point differentials of 37, 23, 10, 26, 18, 33, and 14 points. When Carolina loses, it loses big, and the champs are going to continue that trend.
