The 42p dental tool beauty experts swear by for perfect eyebrows

Brow gels, soaps, sculptors and waxes - I’ve tried them all to get that Instagram viral ‘fluffy brow’ look. So much so I’ve resorted to a beauty treatment called brow lamination which enhances your natural brows with a perm-like solution.

And during my latest treatment, I was stunned to see my beauty technician crack out a packet of interdental brushes mid-session.

To my confusion, I wondered if she was going to start brushing between her gnashers while my solution processed, or worse, offer me a complimentary dental treatment while I waited.

So you can imagine my relief when she began to use one of the angled brushes to comb through my brow hairs. Curious, I asked ‘why interdental brushes?’, to which she responded that she swears by them for perfectly brushed brows.

When I saw the finished results I was equally tickled with giggles, but also seriously impressed. The brushes are so small and precise that they grab every single brow hair and put them just where you want them.

I was so gobsmacked by the results I ordered a pack of six from Amazon before even leaving the car park. The pack cost £2.50, making each red-handled brush around 42p.

Luckily, with brow lamination, the hairs tend to stay where you put them for a good six weeks, but the interdental brushes definitely help with precise shaping and defining. However, for those who don’t get their brows professionally done can still use the bathroom buy with things like brow gel or soap to achieve the same results.

All you have to do is comb through your eyebrows with the interdental brush, then apply your chosen brow product to help them stay in place, brushing them into your preferred style, be it wild and fluffy, or super sleek and tamed.

This technique will also show up any sparse areas that might need filling in with a pencil - I’ve found the 17 cosmetics brow pencil to be a great budget option.

I used these TePe interdental brushes from Amazon, which are £2.50 and arrived the next day on Prime, but Boots also have similar products from £2.60.

A more sustainable option is these Humble brushes from Superdrug, costing £2.65 for eight, meaning you can add half to your cosmetics bag for perfect eyebrows, and the other half to your bathroom cabinet for clean teeth and tip-top dental hygiene.
