The Giants currently wear their ‘throwback’ style uniforms from their glory days of the 1950s and 60s. They switched back to them – and the traditional ‘NY’ insignia on their helmets in 2000 and have been wearing them ever since.
They toyed with several new logo designs in the mid-70s after leaving Yankee Stadium in 1973 and eventually went with the “GIANTS” logo on their helmets when they began playing in the New Jersey Meadowlands.
With their identity crisis over, the franchise decided to revert back to the New York name on their uniforms which has helped greatly in the marketing of apparel.
