Nothing beats a good Scottish chippy. Everyone has their local favourite that they claim is the best around, but one organisation is set to crown a winner later this month.
The Scottish Italian Awards, which celebrate the best Italian businesses in Scotland, will take place on November 27. There are many categories to compete in, from Best Pasta to Best Pizza to, of course, Best Fish and Chips.
More than 25 chippies from all over Scotland, including takeaways in Oban, Glasgow, and Portknockie have been shortlisted for the award. The finalists will now be judged by an independent panel of esteemed experts, including celebrity Italian chef Aldo Zilli.

The winner of the Best Fish and Chips award, along with all of the other winners, will be announced at the Scottish Italian Awards ceremony on November 27 at the Doubletree By Hilton in Glasgow.
Announcing the lineup on Facebook, the organisers wrote: "A massive congratulations to you and your team! Over the next few days you will receive an email containing your finalist letter, certificate and judging information!"
