It is true that Jaylen Brown signed the richest contract in NBA history this offseason, inking a 5-year supermax extension worth more than $300 million with the Boston Celtics. However, that deal won’t make him the highest paid player this season.
Because Brown’s extension doesn’t kick in until next year, his base salary actually barely cracks the top 50 of highest paid players in 2023-24, according to data from Spotrac.
The players set to make the most money this season are still (mostly) the players fans would expect to be making the most. Below is a look at the top 20 base salaries in the NBA.
