The £2.3m Scots mega-mansion that's hit market with cinema room and stunning sea view

A huge coastal home has popped up on the market and is kitted out with a hot tub, home cinema, wine storage and an unbelievable view.

The architect-designed Water’s Edge in Ayr is set to be sold to buyers for more than £2.3million and looks like something out of Grand Designs.

Before work started on the behemoth property in 2012, a fisherman’s cottage sat on the rocky outcrop before it was demolished.

And for many years this area of ground was a shipyard owned by The Marquess of Ailsa, owner of Culzean Castle and chief of Clan Kennedy. Many racing yachts were built and launched from the slipway - one was for Lipton Tea founder Sir Thomas Lipton and Lord Ailsa who built a transatlantic yacht for himself.

Now there is a huge four bedroom home featuring a triple garage that's probably as big as most flats as well as a lift if you're not too keen on scaling the three flights of stairs.

You will get a full height window wall in the main lounge, offering you an unreal sea view where you can see the best of the Firth of Clyde.

The only catch is the house is on sale for offers in excess of 2,300,000, so you may have to win the EuroMillions to get your hands on the huge home. Alternatively you could win five Thunderballs in a row.

And even then, the house is set to sell for even more so you could need more than five T-balls.

Estate agents Knight Frank said about the home: "Work started on Water’s Edge in 2012 to an inspiring design that shows a huge amount of imagination and attention to detail, and which ensures that its occupants want for nothing by way of comfort and convenience.

"All the bedrooms have balconies with sea views, with large en suite bath/shower rooms and plenty of wardrobe space.

"The beautifully equipped kitchen/breakfast room runs the whole width of the house and is connected to the lounge by the dining room (with its own sliding door on to the wrap around balcony), with these two rooms sharing a feature fireplace. Even the stairs make the most of the views on the landward side of the house."

No matter what floor you're on there is some kind of luxury treat, whether you are upstairs enjoying the library/seating area which features a back balcony.

Or maybe you'd rather relax downstairs, in the barbecue area which opens to the sea and to the hot tub.

You'll also get a few acres of land to enjoy if you were to buy this house, allowing you to get the most out of the sublime Scottish seascape.
