The 1975's frontman Matty Healy has revealed that the band will be playing an intimate gig in Manchester next year. The singer, who is currently on the American leg of the band’s ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ tour, confirmed the news via Instagram last night.
The gig, which will take place on February 1 at music venue Gorilla, is in addition to the band’s Manchester gig as part of the UK and Ireland tour dates. The band will head back over the Atlantic in January and perform in 14 cities including Manchester on January 20 at the AO Arena.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Matty Healy said: "Hello everybody, we are playing a show in Manchester on the 1st of February at Gorilla. And all the money will be going to War child so try and get tickets for that one."

The news was confirmed by Gorilla this morning in a post to Twitter that simply said: "Yep! It's happening! Follow us / set alerts / stick about for more info. We are very excited for this one!" No tickets details have yet been released but are expected in due course.
The Manchester band formed at Wilmslow High School, where they played together as teenagers before signing to a record label. Made up of lead vocalist Matthew "Matty" Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel, the band released their chart-topping self-titled album in 2013, which included major hits 'Chocolate' and 'Robbers'.
They last played in Manchester back in January 2020 with the intention of promoting their fourth record, ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’. More recently, Frontman Matty Healy paid a visit to Manchester back in October and was spotted walking around the Northern Quarter.
Fans of the singer and the band couldn’t believe their luck and news quickly spread on social media about his whereabouts. The lead singer of the Manchester-formed group, was spotted filming with Apple Music host and DJ Zane Lowe, and stopped for pictures with fans outside of Piccadilly Records.
One fan, who captured a selfie with Healy wrote on Twitter: "As if I met Matty Healy after my morning lecture earlier are you joking". Another, who managed to capture a quick video, posted: " hiya hiya hiya Matty Healy i love you #1975 #mattyhealy".
After huge success this summer at one of Japan's biggest rock festival Summer Sonic and a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, the band will kickstart their UK leg of the 2023 tour in Brighton on January 8. Other shows include Manchester and Cardiff before closing on January 29 in Dublin.
