The 17 weirdest things that happened during the Nickelodeon Super Bowl 58 broadcast, including lots of slime

Nickelodeon’s special broadcast of Super Bowl 58 was all over the place. Football fans were in for a wild ride as SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Dora the Explorer and the rest of the crew broke down the game as only Nickelodeon can do.

Nickelodeon got things going early with special news that they were starting the broadcast with a special rendition of Sweet Victory by SpongeBob Squarepants. (If you haven’t seen it, it’s glorious.) But then things became unhinged quickly when an early fumble prompted a Christian McCaffrey roasting session from Patrick Star and SpongeBob.

Here are some of the best moments from the broadcast:

1
Patrick Mahomes was dressed as a pirate in pregame warmups

2
Patrick Star and SpongeBob ripped Christian McCaffrey for his first quarter fumble

3
Dora the Explorer expertly explained holding penalties

4
Planton randomly showed up and everybody was annoyed

5
DoodleBob flirted with Taylor Swift

6

7

8
Squidward was (angrily) stuck in line for the bathroom

9
Dora the Explorer hilariously explained how to find the end zone

10
Mr. Krabs broke out his scheming and cheap ways

11
Introduced Travis Kelce as Taylor Swift's boyfriend

12
Awkwardly broadcasted celebrities as fish puns

13
Poked fun at Leo DiCaprio and his dating life

14
Dora and Boots explained a false start

15
Trolled the Chiefs for taking so long to score

16
Gave an animal-themed spelling lesson on Kyle Juszczyk's name

17
Patrick and SpongeBob Celebrated the Chiefs winning another Super Bowl
