If you want to get onto the housing ladder, price will be key.
While many areas have seen house prices soar, some of which has been attributed to the pandemic creating a desire for more space or rural living, combined with pent-up demand and a lack of supply, there are still places where homes can be bought at more reasonable prices.
In fact, some neighbourhoods actually saw house prices drop in the last year.

So, if you are looking to buy a property, just where are the neighbourhoods in Nottinghamshire with the lowest house prices?
With the help of figures from the Office for National Statistics, we discovered that the Newgate ward in Mansfield was, overall, the area with the lowest property prices.
Here, potential homeowners could buy a house for £89,400. This compares to £82,500 the previous year, representing a change of 8 per cent.
However, next on the list - and another Mansfield area - was Ladybrook. This neighbourhood actually saw a decrease in prices compared to the previous year, going down by around 10 per cent from £102,000 in June 2020 to £92,000 in June 2021.
According to the figures, which are a crude average and don’t take into account the type of property sold, North Nottinghamshire is home to some of the most reasonably priced properties.
The full list is below. But bear in mind that the average price may be skewed for wards that have seen a small number of sales in the last year, and that increases and decreases might also reflect changes in the types of properties sold. For example, if lots of new flats have been built in an area that was previously made up of detached homes, the figures will reflect that.
