College Football 25 is one of the most anticipated sports video games in years, and we’re only a few days away from the launch on July 19th.
EA has revealed the ratings for the top 100 players in the game, led by Michigan’s Will Johnson, LSU’s Will Campbell and Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II.
A total of 14 running backs landed within the top 100 overall players revealed by EA on Wednesday. Miami’s Damien Martinez, UCF’s RJ Harvey, Rutgers’ Kyle Monangai and Liberty’s Quinton Cooley just missed a spot in among the top 10 running backs at launch.
Here are the 10 best running backs in College Football 25, sorted by overall rating.
1. Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State: 96 overall
Speed: 90 | Acceleration: 97 | Strength: 79 | Awareness: 97 | Jumping: 87
Ollie Gordon II’s recent arrest on suspicion of DUI put the Oklahoma State star’s name in the headline for all the wrong reasons, but coach Mike Gundy has (controversially) announced that Gordon II will not miss any game time following the incident.
2. Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State: 95 overall
Speed: 89 | Acceleration: 94 | Strength: 74 | Awareness: 87 | Jumping: 88
Judkins leads a two-headed monster in the Ohio State backfield along with TreVeyon Henderson. A transfer from Ole Miss, Judkins ran for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Rebels in 2023.
3. Omarion Hampton, North Carolina: 93 overall
Speed: 91 | Acceleration: 95 | Strength: 81 | Awareness: 95 | Jumping: 90
Hampton rushed for 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Tar Heels in his second season.
4. TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State: 93 overall
Speed: 94 | Acceleration: 95 | Strength: 74 | Awareness: 90 | Jumping: 91
A veteran in the Buckeyes’ backfield, Henderson enters his fourth season with career totals of 2,613 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns.
5. Jaydn Ott, Cal: 93 overall
Speed: 92 | Acceleration: 97 | Strength: 75 | Awareness: 95 | Jumping: 88
Ott had five games with 150+ rushing yards in 2023, and finished the year with 12 rushing touchdowns.
6. Tahj Brooks, Texas Tech: 92 overall
Speed: 88 | Acceleration: 91 | Strength: 84 | Awareness: 94 | Jumping: 79
A fifth-year player, Brooks exploded in his senior season, rushing for 1,541 yards and 10 touchdowns, doubling his career yardage total.
7. Devin Neal, Kansas: 92 overall
Speed: 90 | Acceleration: 93 | Strength: 72 | Awareness: 90 | Jumping: 87
The Jayhawks’ offense is ranked among the top 25 in the game with the combination of Neal – who rushed for 15 touchdowns in 2023 – and QB Jalon Daniels highlighting the roster.
8. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State: 91 overall
Speed: 91 | Acceleration: 96 | Strength: 75 | Awareness: 90 | Jumping: 88
In his second season in Boise, Jeanty rushed for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns. With an acceleration rating of 96, he’s going to be scary.
9. Donovan Edwards, Michigan: 91 overall
Speed: 92 | Acceleration: 96 | Strength: 74 | Awareness: 93 | Jumping: 87
Donovan Edwards’ numbers took a dive in 2023, but he later revealed that he played most of the year with a partially torn patellar tendon.
10. Nicholas Singleton, Penn State: 91 overall
Speed: 94 | Acceleration: 95 | Strength: 83 | Awareness: 88 | Jumping: 90
Singleton was poised to be a superstar after a stellar 1,000+ yard freshman year, but he rushed for just 460 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. Nittany Lions fans may rightfully argue that RB Kaytron Allen was snubbed by EA and should have been a top 100 player if Singleton received such high ratings.
