Sometimes your mum deserves spoiling, and luckily, there are plenty of places to do it in Manchester this weekend, from endless afternoon teas to unlimited amounts of gravy. Should that be her thing.
Here are some of the places in town offering up some of the best food and entertainment going.
King Street Townhouse
Mother’s Day at the smart King Street Townhouse is most certainly in the upscale category, but as far as such things are concerned, this is decent value. For £71 all in, you can have a bespoke brunch dish and a glass of Buck’s Fizz in the King Street Townhouse Tavern, and then a 60-minute Face Yoga masterclass session on the South Terrace. There are also nail technicians on hand. Alternatively, there are Mother’s Day movie screenings across the weekend too, including Mamma Mia, Thelma & Louise and Little Women. £42 gets you enjoy a brunch dish, tea or coffee, a glass of Bucks Fizz, popcorn and homemade chocolates thrown in with the movie.

Shoryu Ramen
If your mum’s a fan of Japanese food, then Shoryu has got you covered. Book into the Piccadilly Gardens (and quote ‘Mother’s Day’ when you’re making the booking) and your mum will be served with a cocktail or a mocktail for free. So that’s a Dirty Lychee, combination of lychee and nigori sake made with a dirty touch of rum, or a Yuzu Jasmine, an iced jasmine dragon pearl tea with handmade yuzu syrup. It’s only on March 27, and you have to order one main course too.
