'That's the question' - Kevin Campbell explains Richarlison doubt amid Everton exit rumours

Kevin Campbell has questioned whether a move to Tottenham Hotspur would suit Richarlison as the Brazilian continues to be linked with a summer move away from Everton.

The 25-year-old still has two years remaining on his contact at the club, though is reportedly subject to interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. And it is Tottenham who have been described as the current frontrunners for Richarlison as Antonio Conte continues his rebuild of the side.

Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster have already arrived at the club on free transfers and it has been reported the Lilywhites are also closing in on the £25million signing of Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma. Spurs secured Champions League football last season and will be confident of continuing their upward trajectory as a club with further additions to the team, though Campbell is not convinced a move to north London would be in Richarlison's best interests.

Expressing his concern over the potential lack of game time the Brazil international may receive, with a World Cup on the horizon, the former Blues favourite told Goodison News : "If you’re going to go to one of these sides who are in the Champions League or playing in Europe, obviously you need a big squad because there’s going to be a lot of turnaround. Everybody isn’t going to play every game, that’s for sure.

“He’s [Conte] trying to get a squad together, who can compete at every level. Maybe that’s the question for Spurs. But the question for Richarlison is, he’s coming from a place where he’s starting. The key is does he trade that to be a squad player or part of a rotation? So that’s the question he’s got to ask himself really, and answer.

“That’s why I am not so sure it happens because I’m sure he’s going to want to play week in, week out. We’re talking about a Brazilian international, World Cup coming up. He doesn’t want to be on no bench. He’s not going to come. There’s no point in thinking about an angry Richarlison [if he’s stuck on the bench]. "
