Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson admitted he made a controversial choice when naming his favourite song by The Beatles amid the revelation that Jude Bellingham would not be joining him at Anfield next season.
It is no secret that Henderson and Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham bonded during the World Cup last year with Gareth Southgate fielding both players alongside Declan Rice in his England midfield.
Bellingham had long linked with a big-money move to Liverpool. But it emerged last month that the Reds had stepped away from their pursuit of the 19-year-old after the scale of their required summer midfield overhaul became glaringly apparent.

While on international duty in March, Henderson had flirted with the possibility of Bellingham heading to Liverpool, calling the prospect of the pair playing together at club level as “amazing”.
“Listen, I just want him (Bellingham) to be the best player he can be,” Henderson said. “Of course, if it ended up being Liverpool, that would be amazing. But it’s got to be right for him, and it’s going to be every club you can think of that will want him.
“He has to think about himself and make sure he makes the right decision for his career. But there’s going to be one club that will end up getting him, whether that is now or in a year or two, and it will be a lucky club.
“Honestly, I can’t believe his age, how mature he plays, how mature he is off the pitch, in the gym, training, everything, recovery day after the game. He is just dedicated to football.”
But Reds fans were left to wonder whether there could still be a chance after a newly released interview from Sky Sports interview with Henderson.
The Liverpool skipper was asked, "Oasis or The Beatles"? After choosing the Fab Four over the Gallagher brothers, he was asked his favourite track by the Liverpool legends. He answered, "Hey Jude", before laughing and saying: "That's a bit controversial at the minute!"
Was Henderson dropping a potential transfer hint?
