As Thanksgiving approaches, millions of travelers are gearing up to take to the skies for the holiday season. According to estimates from the Transportation Security Administration, there is a significant increase in the number of people expected to fly this year compared to 2023.
Some of the busiest airports for Thanksgiving travel, based on the total number of scheduled departing seats available, include Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, DFW International Airport, Denver International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, and Chicago-O'Hare International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration is anticipating screening a whopping 18.3 million individuals from November 26 to December 2, marking a 6% increase in volume from the same period last year. The agency has identified the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, as well as the Sunday after, as the busiest travel days.
