At least 13 people have died and dozens more left injured after a huge fire ripped through a pub and restaurant in Thailand.
Four women and nine men have been confirmed among the dead after the incident at the Mountain B bar and eatery in the Sattahip district of Chonburi province.
Another thirty are reported to have suffered various injuries.
The premises is believed to have been totally destroyed following the blaze, which broke out at around 1am local time on Friday (August 5).
Police Major General Atthasit Kitchahan, commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, attended the scene at 3:30am, where owner Ms Thanyapat Sornsuwanhiran told him there fire had begun on the roof before rapidly spreading downwards.
Entering the building afterwards, authorities found four dead in the men’s bathroom, three behind the DJ booth, one at the cash desk behind the bar and three in front.
Footage shared by customers on social media showed people fleeing through the front door as large flames rose from the roof of the building. It is currently unclear whether there was a fire door installed in the building.
The fire spread through the building rapidly, with initial reports suggesting that the situation worsened when soundproofing foam placed on the walls caught fire.
Witness reports described two explosions near the DJ booth, followed by patrons running out of the door with their clothes alight. Others were found laying outside with burns on their body.
Several of the injured suffered the effects of smoke inhalation while others were hurt from their frantic efforts to escape the building.
Shocking images emerged after the fire had been extinguished showing the main room charred black and completely burnt out with tables reduced to metal frames.
The Mountain B had only opened just over a month before the incident, according to local media. It is said to be popular with young people.
The one-story premises is located on Sukhumvit Road, a famous motorway which connects Bangkok to the areas to the resort town of Pattaya and is populated by a number of bars and hotels.
