Two months after its first ever match, the first TGL season has come to a close with Atlanta Drive GC claiming the SoFi Cup following a 2-0 victory over New York GC.

In the final, which took place over the 24th and 25th March, the quartet of Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover were the cream of the crop, as the foursome secured a $9 million payday.

Being held at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Atlanta Drive GC side edged the first match 6-5 on Monday and, in the second game early on Tuesday, they staged a dramatic comeback.

Trailing 3-0 after 11 holes in the 15 hole match, the trio of Horschel, Thomas and Cantlay fired back over the final four holes to secure a tight 4-3 victory and a payday of $2.25 million each.

In terms of New York GC, they can take solace in the fact that the foursome claimed $4.5 million, which equates to a $1.125 million payday each. In fact, the paycheck is Cameron Young's second biggest payout in his career.

You may wonder how much Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy claimed. Well, Jupiter Links GC came fifth and that meant a $1.75 million team payout and a check of $437,500 each. In terms of McIlroy, his Boston Common GC side came last and earned $1.5 million, which works out to $375,000 each
