TG4 viewers hail Anthony Molloy as 'top class' after Laochra Gael appearance

TG4 viewers were full of praise for Anthony Molloy after his appearance on Laochra Gael.

Molloy will go down as one of Donegeal's true greats, playing a vital part in the 1992 All-Ireland title.

The Donegal man would go on to play 123 times for his county and won three Ulster titles in his career.

And speaking ahead of the episode, he said of his playing career: “It is something I always look back on with pride and even today people will still come to you on the streets and talk to you about ‘92, even though we won it again in 2012, people are always likely to go back to our breakthrough in 1992,” he says.

“I suppose it was a fantastic time and they were a fantastic bunch of players to make the breakthrough at that time so, look it, any time I am on the street there is still young people who will mention ‘92 along the way.”

And TG4 viewers were full of praise for Molloy after the episode aired.

One viewer said: "That Anthony Molloy Laochra Gael on @SportTG4 was top class. Molloy is a proper @officialdonegal legend. Fine player and a real leader.

"Winning Sam was brilliant but coming through his own struggles and getting out the other side was his biggest victory".

And another said: "Anthony Molloy on @Laochra_Gael tonight was a very honest and raw episode. A very humble man. A great GAA man".
