Textbook Leeds United tweet revealed to be club's most liked post of 2022

Leeds United's teasing of Premier League rivals Chelsea earlier this season has ended up being the club's most-liked post on Twitter of 2022 with over 128,000 likes at the time of writing.

The tweet was a dig at the Blues after the Whites went 2-0 up in their 3-0 victory at Elland Road back in August with the Leeds admin posting a screenshot of a thread of tweets from Chelsea updating on the occurrences of the match.

Starting from a tweet saying 'Starting to assert ourselves!' to then having to post tweets updating the scoreline after Leeds' first two goals was unfortunate at the least for the Chelsea admin and Leeds couldn't help but share it, captioning the screenshot with: 'Life comes at you fast!'

Arguably the club received bad karma for the tweet as the victory was followed by an eight-match winless run in the Premier League which saw the Whites drop into the relegation zone before victories over Liverpool and Bournemouth helped steer the ship before the World Cup break.

Each Premier League club's most popular tweet was highlighted in a Twitter thread from user @fmccrindle, with Leeds' effort ranking 13th in the amount of likes each club's most liked tweet received with Manchester United's announcement of the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo's contract the most liked tweet with almost 600,000 likes.
