Texas WR Adonai Mitchell declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

After Texas Longhorn receiver Xavier Worthy declared his intentions to play at the next level, just a week later fellow wide receiver and teammate Adonai Mitchell has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, making it one of the stronger team duos in this class.

Mitchell was a major acquisition for the Longhorns during the 2023 season becoming part of one of the most explosive offenses in the country. In his only season with Texas Mitchell proved to be a big play threat and urgent red zone target snagging 11 touchdown catches and going for 845 yards on 55 catches.

While Mitchell has a bit of a slight frame his 6’4 height, strong hands, and violent running style more than offset the concerns a smaller frame would usually bring. Mitchell was consistently able to shake off man coverage, run a wide route tree, and make some truly next-level catches this last season and really showed he can play at the next level. Mitchell has a chance to potentially develop into a number-one receiver for whatever team that takes him. Look for Mitchell to hear his name called likely in the second round, though a good pre-draft process could bump him into first-round conversation.
