Law enforcement located and arrested a Texas woman who allegedly hit a young girl walking to school with her car and then drove away.

Zulma Betran, 49, was arrested by police Thursday afternoon in connection to a case from earlier this month, reported Fox 4 News.

On Dec. 10, CCTV footage captured an SUV hitting a 12-year-old, throwing the child several feet down the road before backing up and promptly driving away. The child can be heard screaming as the car makes impact, then crying as they get up and continue to walk down the sidewalk.

The girl's family reported that she was not seriously injured, and went on to school that day after the collision. After arriving at school, the girl reported the incident to her school resource officer.

Police identified Beltran as the driver and said that Beltran admitted to the incident. Plano police added that Beltran "expressed deep regret" for the incident.

Beltran is facing a felony charge of collision involving personal injury.
