Texas Tech pass rusher Tyree Wilson is visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, according to Albert Breer of The MMQB.
Wilson is widely considered a lock to be a top 10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and long off the board by the time the Jaguars are on the clock with the 24th pick. Likely the only way Jacksonville could have a chance at picking Wilson is if the team recreates its 2008 trade to move up for Derrick Harvey.
According to Breer, the only reason Wilson agreed to a visit with a team so low in the draft order is because he “loved the idea of getting time with Doug Pederson.”
Wilson checks all the boxes that Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke loves in a pass rushing prospect. He stands 6’6, 271 pounds and has extremely long 35 5/8-inch arms.
At the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, Wilson didn’t participate in much due to his recovery from a foot fracture. He was medically cleared prior to the Texas Tech Pro Day, but opted against participating at that event, as well.
