It should have been easier. Nothing, however, in rivalry games — especially the first time the teams played in 13 years — was going to be simple.
Texas raced to a 17-0 lead but had to overcome a pick-six, lost fumble, and blocked punt in its 17-7 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday.

The win earned Texas a spot in the Dec. 7 SEC Championship Game in Atlanta against Georgia.
The Longhorns and Dawgs played earlier in the season and Georgia dominated the game, 30-15, Texas’ lone loss of the season.
Against the Aggies, Quintreviou Wisner rushed for 186 yards on 33 carries. Arch Manning had a rugged touchdown run.
Quinn Ewerrs threw for a touchdown pass but also threw the pixk-six and fumbled, which A&M recovered.
