A Texas man has been charged with allegedly threatening an FBI special agent who was part of an investigation into the dissemination of personal data from Hunter Biden's laptop. The incident occurred shortly after Hunter Biden was convicted of three felonies in a federal gun trial.

The man, identified as a 43-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas, allegedly made threatening phone calls and sent text messages to the FBI agent, including explicit threats against the agent and his family. The man mentioned former President Donald Trump and made violent remarks about the agent and other federal officials.

The FBI agent, based in Baltimore, received a voicemail lasting over a minute in which the man threatened retaliation and violence. The man faces charges of interstate threatening communications and influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a federal official, with a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The incident is part of the ongoing controversy surrounding Hunter Biden's laptop, which first came to public attention in a New York Post story in October 2020. The laptop allegedly contained emails related to Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings and became a campaign issue during the 2020 presidential election.

The computer repair shop owner in Wilmington, Delaware, where the laptop was reportedly left, has since spoken out about the contents of the device. He admitted to reviewing private material from the laptop and later shared it with Republicans for dissemination.

The FBI is taking the threats against its agent seriously, and the case is being closely monitored as it unfolds.
