The Ohio State Buckeyes are making a habit of going after Texas linebackers. Last week they received a commitment from Payton Pierce, a 2024 Texas linebacker.
Now that Pierce is in the fold, head coach Ryan Day has his sights on another Texan, Kelvion Riggins. The 2025 linebacker was offered a scholarship by the Buckeyes yesterday.
Buy Buckeyes TicketsAt 6-feet, 205 pounds, Riggins is rated as the No. 24 best linebacker and 227th overall player according to the 247Sports composite rankings. It also looks like defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is the one leading the charge on his recruitment, as the leader of the Buckeye defense was tagged in Riggins’ Twitter announcement.
After an amazing conversation with @CoachJimKnowles, Truly a blessing to say I received a scholarship ⭕️ffer from @OhioStateFB‼️🌰#GoBucks @JLaurinaitis55 @SOCGoldenBearFB @coach_traylor @domenic_spencer @TrueBuzzFB @MikeRoach247 @GHamilton_On3 @SportsDayHS @Perroni247… pic.twitter.com/XytR1MI5nJ
