Trump highlighted the success of his four key policies that led to the lowest illegal border crossings in four decades, including ending catch and release, implementing the Title 42 policy, enforcing the Remain in Mexico policy, and constructing the border wall.
In contrast, President Biden's administration reversed these policies, leading to a surge in illegal border crossings and endangering American lives. Despite existing laws that could be enforced to address the border crisis, Biden failed to act, resulting in what Texas Governor described as an invasion of the United States.
To counter the crisis, Texas took matters into its own hands by building its own border wall, deploying buoys in the Rio Grande to prevent illegal entry, and mobilizing the Texas National Guard to secure the border. The National Guard successfully sealed off areas previously used for illegal crossings, significantly reducing the number of daily border crossings.
Furthermore, Texas established a military base to accommodate 2,300 National Guard members to enhance border security efforts. Governor Abbott reiterated that Texas would continue to transport migrants to sanctuary cities until Biden enforces existing laws to secure the border.
The Governor expressed gratitude for President Trump's border security model and anticipated a secure border under his potential re-election. General Seltzer of the Texas National Guard affirmed their commitment to securing the border across 1,254 miles of Texas territory.
