Texas Gov. Abbott Supports Trump's IVF Proposal

Former President Trump Visits The Southern Border With Texas Governor Abbott

During a recent statement, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott expressed his support for former President Donald Trump's suggestion that the federal government or insurance companies should cover the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Governor Abbott highlighted Trump's emphasis on promoting IVF to increase the number of babies being born, rather than restricting access to such fertility treatments.

Abbott acknowledged Trump's proposal positively, stating, 'He’s promoting IVF. I support IVF. And, you know, he said it better than anybody, we want to promote more babies, not deny more babies. And his proposal achieves that goal that I think a lot of Americans support.'

He emphasizes promoting more babies through IVF.

Abbott criticizes the denial of abortion to Texas resident Amanda Zurawski.

Furthermore, Governor Abbott addressed the case of Texas resident Amanda Zurawski, who faced severe health complications after being denied an abortion and subsequently experiencing septic shock. Zurawski has since been advocating against restrictive abortion measures as part of Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.

Abbott criticized the handling of Zurawski's medical situation, labeling it as 'a complete false application of the Texas law.' He clarified that Texas law includes an exception for situations where a woman's life is in danger, emphasizing that Zurawski should have been allowed to proceed with the necessary medical intervention.

Abbott's statements shed light on his stance regarding reproductive rights and access to fertility treatments, aligning with Trump's proposal for IVF coverage and emphasizing the importance of safeguarding women's health in critical situations.
