Furthermore, Governor Abbott addressed the case of Texas resident Amanda Zurawski, who faced severe health complications after being denied an abortion and subsequently experiencing septic shock. Zurawski has since been advocating against restrictive abortion measures as part of Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.
Abbott criticized the handling of Zurawski's medical situation, labeling it as 'a complete false application of the Texas law.' He clarified that Texas law includes an exception for situations where a woman's life is in danger, emphasizing that Zurawski should have been allowed to proceed with the necessary medical intervention.
