Texas A&M Task Force 1 Conducts Welfare Checks In Corpus Christi

Citgo Corpus Christi Refinery in Texas

Today, the search and rescue crew Texas A&M Task Force 1 was seen in action in the North Beach community of Corpus Christi, Texas. The team, equipped with a high-water vehicle and boats, was conducting welfare checks as requested by city officials. As of midday, no rescues had been carried out, but the team was actively monitoring the situation.

Despite no rescues, a woman was observed being transported out of the area in a high-water vehicle by a CNN team. The storm surge in Corpus Christi this morning was reported to be 3.5 feet, which was over a foot higher than the levels recorded at the same time the previous day. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data indicated that the water levels remained elevated during the afternoon, especially as high tide approached.
