When Ohio State was in the conversation for DBU, they constantly brought in high-level cornerback recruits.
The Buckeyes are starting to get back to that. In their 2023 class two top-100 players signed, Calvin Simpson-Hunt and Jermaine Mathews. Head coach Ryan Day and defensive coordinator Jim Knowles want to keep that momentum going with the 2024 cycle.
Texas cornerback Kobe Black is one of those players who could keep the good times going. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 188 pound defender has scheduled an official visit to Columbus next week.
Black is viewed as one of the best players in the country, regardless of position, checking in as the 3rd ranked corner and 23rd overall player in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports composite.

It’s hard to get a read on where Black will end up, but Ohio State getting one of his official visits will help their cause.
