Texans will face Ravens in divisional round

The Houston Texans will face another team they’ve already played this season in the playoffs.

After dispatching the Cleveland Browns in the wild card round (who they saw three weeks prior), Houston will travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round. Because the Buffalo Bills beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, the Texans were the lowest seed left in the conference and therefore drew the top-seeded Ravens.

This will be a rematch of the Week 1 matchup between the two sides. The Ravens won that one in a 25-9 home victory over the Texans. Quarterback C.J. Stroud completed 28-of-44 passing attempts for 242 yards in his NFL regular-season debut, but he couldn’t lead any touchdown-scoring drives. Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn made three field goals in the loss, while the defense allowed three rushing touchdowns to Baltimore.

Much has changed for both teams since then. Stroud put together a Rookie of the Year season and won the AFC South, while the Ravens steamrolled the rest of the AFC to take the No. 1 seed in the conference behind an MVP season from quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The game will kick off first among the four matches at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 20 on ABC and ESPN.
