On Sunday, two key players for the Houston Texans’ offense returned to training camp practice. Two days later, the defense felt that same boost.
Rookie cornerback Kamari Lassiter returned for the first time in over a week after dealing with an ankle injury during the team’s stay in Cleveland. He did not play in the Texans’ 20-12 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday night but could be in line to see action on Saturday when Houston hosts the New York Giants if he remains on the field.
Lassiter, the No. 42 overall pick out of Georgia, made several plays in coverage during team drills with starters. He wasn’t limited in drills and likely could be a factor in Saturday’s outing.

“I’m excited to see them back out working. I think it’s more important for their teammates to see them and everyone working together and getting on the same page,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans Excited to see all of our guys back who have been missing for a few weeks here.”

Defensive end Will Anderson Jr, cornerback Jeff Okudah, receiver Noah Brown and defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. were seen working out on the side field after missing Sunday’s open practice. Fellow receiver Ben Skowronek also missed practice.
Offensive tackle Tytus Howard and guard Shaq Mason returned after missing Sunday’s practice. Mason had a pad on his arm, but he looked fine while running drills with the starters.
