Leave it to general manager Nick Caserio to wheel and deal in the draft.
“Are you worse off or better off? You factor everything in,” Caserio explained his draft trade philosophy after Day 1 of the 2022 NFL draft Thursday. “There was a lot of good discussion and dialogue specifically about that as we were working through it.”
The Houston Texans traded a third-round pick (No. 68), and two fourth-round picks (Nos. 108, 124) to the Cleveland Browns to move up to select former Alabama receiver John Metchie.
There are injury concerns with Metchie as he is recovering from an ACL tear that he sustained in the SEC Championship Game. However, in an exclusive interview with the Texans Wire, Dr. Lyle Cain, the Alabama football team doctor, who performed the surgery on Metchie, says that he will be ready to go.
