The Houston Texans won’t have much time to relish in victory following a 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. In less than 72 hours, they’ll be on a plane headed to the east coast.
Who is next on the schedule to close out the month of October? Let’s discuss below.
Who will the Texans play in Week 9 of the NFL schedule?
Houston takes on the New York Jets on Halloween at MetLife Stadium. This marks the second time within a 12-month calendar span that Houston and New York will do battle out in East Rutherford, N.J.
While Houston is coming off a critical win, the Jets are in panic mode after blowing a 22-17 lead against the New England Patriots. Rhamondre Stevenson posted a 1-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds remaining to push New York to 2-6 on the regular season.
New York got the better of Houston in Week 15 last season, but that’s largely due to the lack of personnel for the Texans. C.J. Stroud left with a concussion, leading to Houston’s two-game run with Case Keenum as the starter. Nico Collins also didn’t play due to a lower-body injury.
The Jets watched former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson throw for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Their defense also held Houston to just 135 yards on the afternoon.
