Texans release LB Kevin Pierre-Louis

The Houston Texans are going with a youth movement in their linebacking corps.

According to Aaron Wilson from the Pro Football Network, the Texans have released linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis as part of the team’s efforts to finalize a 53-man roster by 3:00 p.m. Central Time Tuesday.

Pierre-Louis only played in nine games for the Texans last season, starting in one of them. The Texans also have second-year linebacker Garret Wallow coming into his own, and even selected Alabama linebacker Christian Harris in the third round of this year’s draft.

The former Seattle Seahawks 2014 fourth-round pick generated 10 combined tackles and a fumble recovery last season for Houston.
