C.J. Stroud’s first year in the NFL keeps getting better.
After he lit up the regular season, won the AFC South, won a playoff game and threw two incredible touchdowns in the Pro Bowl, the Houston Texans’ rookie quarterback is headed to Indianapolis this weekend to participate in the NBA All-Star Celebrity game.
The quarterback is no stranger to the court. He was a standout high school basketball player in Rancho Cucamonga, California, before he took his talents to Columbus, Ohio, to play football for the Buckeyes. Now, he’s an NFL Offensive Player of the Year favorite after throwing for 4,108 passing yards and 23 touchdowns in 2023.

Stroud will join Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons on Stephen A. Smith’s team on Feb. 16. His teammates include former NBA player Metta World Peace, EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson, and James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi. By this point, Stroud will know if he’s also the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year.
