Although the team held a walkthrough practice on Wednesday, the Houston Texans still listed 13 players on the first injury report of Week 5, including eight estimated to be non-participants.
As is always the case with walkthrough practices, teams simply estimate participation status of players.
Linebacker Blake Cashman and Christian Kirksey, defensive linemen Austin Deculus, Jonathan Greenard, Kurt Finish and Jerry Hughes, tight end Brevin Jordan and receiver Chris Moore were listed as non-participants on Wednesday.
Defensive lineman Maliek Collins, receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. were limited, and offensive lineman Kenyon Green and Tytus Howard were estimated to be full participants.
Of note, coach Love Smith said he believes Stingley should be able to play Sunday.
“We hope he can,” Smith said. “It’s like we said before it was a bruise, it was a bruise, and he was in a brace today to just protect it a little bit. He should be good to go.”
The Texans will issue additional injury reports on Thursday and Friday, and official injury designations arrive Friday.
Week 5 takes the Texans to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars.
