The Houston Texans and New York Jets have a lot of connections.
Not only did Robert Saleh used to coach Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans when the two were with the San Francisco 49ers, but several players on both sides have played for the other.
And now, the two sides will face off against each other in a huge Week 14 clash with a lot at stake in the AFC playoff hunt – for Houston, at least.
Here’s a breakdown of current Texans players who’ve for the Jets, and current Jets who’ve played for the Texans.
K Matt Ammendola
Matt Ammendola was the New York Jets starting kicker for 11 games in 2021.
LB Neville Hewitt
Neville Hewitt played three seasons for the Jets from 2018-2020 where he started 30 games.
LB Blake Cashman
The Jets drafted Cashman in the fifth round of the 2019 draft. He played in just 14 games from 2019-2021 due to various injuries.
DT Sheldon Rankins
Rankins played two seasons in New York from 2021-2022 where he started 18 of 31 games.
OT George Fant
Fant played three seasons with the Jets from 2020-2022 where he started 36 of 37 games as a swing tackle for New York.
S Adrian Amos
Amos signed with the Jets this past offseason and played in 11 games and started three for New York before the two sides mutually parted ways.
OT Duane Brown
Brown began his career with the Texans as the No. 26 pick in 2008. He played 10 seasons in Houston before he played five years with the Seattle Seahawks. Brown signed with the Jets in 2022 and started 14 of 16 games for New York.
WR Randall Cobb
Cobb played one season with the Texans in 2020 before he returned for two seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Cobb signed with the Jets this past offseason after Aaron Rodgers was traded to New York.
