Texans eliminated from hosting playoff game in divisional round

The Houston Texans secured a 32-12 victory in the wild-card round over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday at NRG Stadium.

Barring a pair of upsets from the Denver Broncos, it’ll be the last time Houston plays at NRG Stadium in the 2024 campaign.

With the Baltimore Ravens securing a 14-point victory at MT&T Bank Stadium over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston hits the road next weekend in the divisional round.

Should the Broncos upset the Bills, the Texans will take on Lamar Jackson and a Ravens team that delivered the worst beatdown in the DeMeco Ryans-led era.

Should the Bills win, Houston would travel back to Arrowhead Stadium for a rematch of Week 16’s battle with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans have a sour memory of that performance after wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a season-ending leg injury.

Not all hope is lost for another playoff game. If the Texans were to win against the Ravens and the Broncos could pull off an upset over the Chiefs, Houston would be the highest seed, thus giving the franchise one more outing.
