Tessa Thompson is set to make her return to television in a new limited series titled His & Hers, which will be available on Netflix. The series, based on a novel by Alice Feeney, will feature Thompson in a lead role as well as serving as an executive producer.
His & Hers will consist of six episodes and marks Thompson's first television project since her role in Westworld on HBO concluded in 2022. The series will be written by William Oldroyd, Bill Dubuque, and Dee Johnson, with Oldroyd also directing the first episode and Johnson serving as the showrunner.
The story, originally set in Britain, will be transplanted to Atlanta for the series. The plot follows Anna, played by Thompson, a woman who has isolated herself from the world, only to be drawn back into society when she learns of a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega. As she delves into the case, she crosses paths with Detective Jack Harper, who becomes suspicious of her involvement, leading to a complex web of lies and truths.
His & Hers is a collaboration between Fifth Season, Freckle Films (founded by Jessica Chastain), and Viva Maude (Thompson's production company). The project was initiated after Feeney's novel gained popularity following its release in 2020.
The series will be executive produced by Oldroyd, Dubuque, Johnson, Thompson, Kristen Campo, Chastain, Kelly Carmichael, and Kishori Rajan. With a talented team both in front of and behind the camera, His & Hers promises to be a captivating and suspenseful addition to Netflix's lineup.
