Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman send Strictly fans wild with 'camp' entrance on live show

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman ensured they added some additional glamour to the first live Strictly Come Dancing show of the year.

The presenting team opened the bumper live show on BBC One in style this evening [September 24], with BBC viewers quickly taking to social media to gush over their 'camp' entrance and compliment their chic outfits for the big night - begging Strictly bosses for the same again next week.

After a spectacular group dance to kick off the first live show of the series, Tess and Claudia appeared and descended onto the dancefloor on a rainbow boa filled lift - with Strictly fans comparing the segment to something you would see at Pride and crediting the two presenters for getting involved.

"Tess and Claudia’s entrance was so camp, and I loved it," one viewer mused on Twitter as the show opened, with another adding: "I thought this couldn’t get any camper, then Tess and Claudia descended from the ceiling like they were on a pride float."

Tess opted for a figure-hugging, eye-catching red catsuit - complete with flared legs - for the big opening show, with her co-host Claudia keeping things chic in a black suit and white shirt.

"LOVNG the way Tess and Claudia were brought on to the stage - very OTT - so #strictly," another fan gushed online, as a fourth suggested: "Can we have Tess and Claudia making that kind of entrance every week please? Thank you. #Strictly."

The praise for this evening's entrance comes just hours after some Strictly fans were left 'baffled' by Tess' wardrobe choices for last night's pre-recorded opener - with viewers torn over what to think of the mum-of-two's ensemble of white tailored trousers and eye-catching one-shouldered gold top.

The one long sleeve of the garment was seriously oversized and also featured a tasseled train which draped behind Tess' petite figure. Tess, 53, accessorised the shimmery top with a pair of gold glittery heels and matching hoop earrings as she introduced the Strictly Come Dancing judges on Friday night's pre-recorded show.

Despite being very excited about a new series of the show, viewers were slightly distracted by Tess' attire and took to Twitter to comment.

"Tess couldn’t find the other curtain. #Strictly," one person joked, while another said: "what in the tinfoil is Tess #Strictly #scd."

Someone else mocked: "I see there wasn’t enough white fabric to make Tess a top #Strictly," while a fourth person added: "Tess is wearing curtains again #Strictly."

Many, however, loved Tess' look - with one fan taking to Instagram to tell the presenter: "Looking stunning as always Tess! Can’t wait it’s my fave time of year!"

Another gushed "You look SUBLIME," as a third quipped: "Gorgeous as always tess! So happy my favourite show is on tv!"

Despite only getting a sneak peak of the new celebrity contestants on Friday night's show, some viewers think they've already predicted who will be booted off the BBC One show first.

Strictly Come Dancing fans believe either Kaye Adams or Tony Adams will be eliminated from the show first.

The Loose Women panellist and the former Arsenal football player excited fans when they appeared in the launch show to discover their dance partners.

After all 15 contestants were partnered up, the stars had to show off their dance moves in the couples' first dance.

However, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that some stars looked more confident than others on the dance floor.

Fans thought Kaye 'lacked confidence' but loved her pairing with Kai Widdrington.

"Going to put it out there now: Fleur East is my winner and I think Kaye Adams will be first out based on first dance only," one Twitter user said.

Another added: "Fleur to win, Kaye first out, sorry Kai, you deserved better my lovely… #Strictly."

"Kaye has the best partner in Kai, she just needs to find some confidence," one fan pointed out.
