Tesco unveils Back to School range - and prices start at just £1.33

Supermarket giant Tesco has unveiled its latest Back to School range with just weeks of the summer holidays remaining. And it's good news for parents as prices in the range start at just £1.33.

With inflation officially reaching double figures, many parents will be looking at ways to save money when buying those all important school essentials. And with a 100-day guarantee across its range, Tesco's low-cost Back to School garments start at just £1.33 for a polo shirt.

Each piece is designed with sustainability in mind as well, boasting at least 50% recycled materials. The supermarket giant says this means they are produced using less water.

Uniform staples for children ranging from primary school right through to secondary will be available in store. There will be staple items such as triple-pack shirts for boys and girls (working out at £1.33 a shirt for a £4 pack) as well as jumpers.

The range also features boys' and girls' trousers with adjustable waists, starting from just £3.50. There are also options for 'grow with me hems', which are designed to be let down over the school year, helping drive down uniform costs.

Head of buying for kids & baby at F&F, Jennie Burbage, said: We know that getting ready for September can be a big task for families and recognise that school uniforms get so much wear. At Tesco we know that price and quality, along with style, comfort and durability, are the most important factors for parents and children choosing new items. This is why our range is affordable and made to last. We’ve done everything we can to help make going back to school as practical and affordable as possible.”

The range also features great quality PE kit essentials, starting from as little as £2.00, including cotton sweatshirts, joggers and t-shirts, quick-dry netball skirts and football shorts, as well as other sporting staples. The uniform range is available in stores nationwide now, alongside other school essentials such as stationary, bags and everything needed to go in the lunch box – all offering great value.

Tesco says it has 'significantly increased' the number of value lines it offers, from price matching budget supermarkets through to providing its low-cost 'Everyday Prices'. It continues to offer free kids meals in Tesco Cafes until August 26 with a Clubcard.
